Jim also has North Carolina State Certification to teach Concealed Carry Handgun Training and laws governing Concealed Handguns and Use of Deadly Force. He has over 40 years of firearms experience in both compeitive shooting and hunting. |

Firearms Courses |
|
| Following is a brief description of the courses offered. Most of them can be completed on a weekend and you do not have to already own a firearm to participate. The Courses are designed to be a "hands on" class to help all students become familiar with handling firearms. All classes are open to both Women and Men. |

Basic Pistol Class |
|
| This course deals with the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Through this course, the students will learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety and shooting fundamentals. |
|
| By firing live ammunition and achieving proper sight alignmet , breath control and trigger squeeze, your improvement in accuracy will increase dramatically. Maintenance and cleaning of your gun will be demonstrated as well as storage and holster recommendations. Length of course 8-10 hours. |

Personal Protection Class |
|
| The goal of this course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of a handgun and provide information on the citizen's right of self-defense. |
|
In addition to teaching basic pistol skills and marksmanship, this course is taught in
conjunction with a police official or court officer who instructs in legal matters of self defense. Through "LIve Fire" exercises and "Hands On" training, this course should give every student better peace of mind in today's society. Length of course 12 hours. |

Home Firearm Safety Class |
|
| To teach the basic knowledge and skills and explain the attitude necessry for the sole handling and storage of guns in the home. Designed for anyone who comes into contact with firearms not necessarily the user, this course is a must for safe storage and proper handling of all firearms. Length of course 4 hours. |

Concealed Carry Handgun Training & Laws Governing Concealed Handguns & Use of Deadly Force Class (North Carolina Residents Only) |
|
| This course meets the standards of the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission which states that all applicants must pass an approved firearms safety and training course which involves the actual firing of a handgun. The course goal is to: |

| Verify that the applicant is competent with a handgun. |
|
Knowledgeable about the laws governing the carrying of a concealed handgun
and the use of deadly force. |
|
| The certificate earned with completion of this course must be submitted to the sheriff of the country whre the applicant seeks a permit. Length of course 8 hours. |
